Director of Worship Arts @ Prince of Peace

I moved to northern Virginia in June of 2025 after accepting the role of Director of Worship Arts at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, in Springfield (VA). For reference, Washington, D.C. is just next to Alexandria (VA), which is just next to Springfield.

Now in early February 2026, I’ve been at this for over six months – and what a joy it’s been. The congregation and staff at PoP is extraordinarily supportive and dynamic. I feel very at home.

I’m essentially the primary music director here, although there are additional responsibilities related to worship and administration. That being said, these are the ensembles we are blessed to have at PoP:

  • Chancel Choir (adults)
  • Orchestra
  • HIMnals (youth choir)
  • Junior (children’s) Choir
  • Worship Team (praise band)

I’m also working with a couple others on getting handbells and a youth wind ensemble off the ground regularly, if possible.

This website/blog was started primarily to support and promote my private music instruction, some time ago. While I was a private music teacher for 20+ years, my role now is large enough that I cannot take on private instruction. I often miss it, but I also know my bandwidth limitations.

Thanks for following my journey! I’ll continue to post about my music work, accordion project and additional things as warranted.
