I generally instruct horn students in grades 5-12, occasionally working with adults. I challenge and encourage students to achieve their best and most beautiful, resonant sound on this complex yet incredible instrument. Learning how and when to sound elegant versus powerful is key.
I generally instruct piano students in grades 1-12, occasionally working with adults. I teach music from a variety of rhythmic and melodic backgrounds. Dexterity and coordination are byproducts of learning this fantastic, harmonious instrument.
Other perks of working with Mrs. Schweitzer:
I pride myself in having built up a fairly substantial library of horn and piano literature. Students may borrow pieces from me as needed, throughout their time as students.
For the younger ones, I’ve got a music storybook library that they (or younger siblings) are welcome to borrow from.
Finally, due to my live music business I’m extraordinarily well-connected with other musicians and industry experts – locally and beyond. I can make many recommendations for teachers on other instruments, great school music programs and many other things.
